2011 Protect Your Identity Days – Protect Your Identity & The Environment
BUFFALO, NY (August 30, 2011) – Protect your identity and the
environment! Sunnking Electronics Recycling has collaborated with New York
State Senator George Maziarz, North Tonawanda Mayor Rob Ortt, the Niagara County
Refuse Disposal District, GM Components Holdings, and Certified Document
Destruction & Recycling, Inc. for Protect Your Identity Days 2011. There are two dates for electronics recycling
and secure document shredding which will take place on Saturday, September 10th
and September 24th, both from 9am – 2pm. The
event on September 10th will take place in the parking lot of the North Tonawanda Public Works, located at 758 Erie Avenue in
North Tonawanda, NY 14120 and the event on September 24th will take
place in the GM Component Holdings parking lot, located at 200 Upper Mountain
Road in Lockport, NY 14094.
This electronics recycling and
document destruction event is open to the public, giving businesses and
residents of Niagara County the opportunity to securely destroy sensitive
documents and recycle electronics in a responsible and secure manner. All data will
be handled in accordance with HIPAA, FACTA and Sarbanes Oxley regulations.
Businesses that are interested in participating must make an appointment in
advance by calling 716-434-0680. For additional information on these events
visit www.sunnking.com/2011-protect-your-identity-days/.
“This type of event has proven to be very successful in Niagara County
and I invite anyone looking to dispose of sensitive information safely to
participate,” says Senator George Maziarz. “It is more important than ever to
guard against identity theft. There are
unscrupulous people out there who are not above rummaging through trash to try
to find your social security number or bank account number. The best way to make sure no one has access
to that information is to destroy it properly.”
Residents and businesses are encouraged to bring paper documents for
secure shredding (3 ring binders and metal/plastic must be removed) as well as
electronics such as laptops, desktops, computer accessories, TV’s, monitors,
audio/video equipment, mp3 players, communications equipment, servers & IT
equipment, printers, scanners, copiers, fax machines, cellphones, PDA’s,
medical/lab equipment, and anything else with a circuit board or cord.
“This event is a great example of state and county municipalities and legislators working together with private businesses to provide a much needed service to the general public,” says Duane Beckett President/CEO of Sunnking Inc. “All of us here at Sunnking look forward to yet another successful electronics recycling and data destruction event for the Buffalo area residents and businesses.”
