eBay Green Team

The world’s largest online market place is going GREEN.  In 2007, eBay formed their Green Team which started with a mere 40 employees.  Since then, the Green Team has grown drastically and has now reached over 25 countries.  The team is promoting green, sustainable business practices within the world of eBay.  “Going Green” has become a wide-spread, growing trend throughout the world and eBay has joined the cause.  The green feature on the eBay website provides users with tips and ideas for using recycled items in their homes. Sunnking is very excited about the Green Team at eBay because they share the same goals and offer greener alternatives to consumers.

Sunnking has been utilizing the eBay market place to sell reusable electronics since 1998. Sunnking’s goal is to reuse existing electronics and reduce the amount of electronic materials that need to be conventionally recycled.  A wide range of products come through the doors here at Sunnking.  Once the products are assessed it is determined whether they can be fixed and resold, or destined to be fully recycled.  If the item can be fixed with recycled parts already available at the warehouse, it is refurbished and resold.  Sunnking has a variety of items available for resale from consumer electronics to business industrial equipment.  Some items you would find available for resale are GE patient monitors, laptops, televisions, and computer projectors to name only a few.  Sunnking also resells parts for a wide range of electronics. Instead of throwing away a broken electronic and buying something entirely new, try simply buying the part that needs replacing and get the electronic fixed! This saves time, money, and diverts waste from piling up in landfills.

The “Sell Green” feature on the eBay website is a perfect opportunity for Sunnking to further establish themselves as an electronics recycling company. When people are searching eBay for a recycled electronic, hopefully they will come across a Sunnking item bringing business and awareness to the company.  The green shopping/selling option offered by eBay is something Sunnking is very passionate about.  Another project that the eBay Green Team has been promoting is green shipping practices. The eBay box is a recycled, durable cardboard box designed to be used multiple times.  Sunnking has been implementing this practice for years.  Each item that needs to be shipped from our Sunnking warehouse is packaged and shipped in recycled containers. Next time you need to ship a package, look around your house for an old cardboard box that could be used instead of buying a new one.

Help to reduce, reuse, and recycle today because one man’s trash is another man’s treasure!

99 Bottles Of Recycled Beer On The Wall?

99 bottles of recycled beer on the wall…99 bottles of recycled beer…take one down, pass it around…and Tito Ingenieri’s house might collapse! That’s right. Tito Ingenieri, a man from Quilmes, Argentina has spent the last 16 years building a house from over 6 million bottles that he’s collected. I’m not too sure a building inspector would approve, and I probably wouldn’t recommend doing this without the help of a structural engineer, but since it’s green I like it! Read more

The last thing I want is to be labeled as a hypocrite for not practicing what I preach, so this year I made sure to document my environmentally responsible present wrapping. Read more

Green Label OR Green Fable?

What does it mean to go green? Most people would tell you that “going green” means doing “stuff” that helps “save” the environment. While this definition certainly doesn’t qualify for a placement on Wikipedia, it pretty much sums up the term in a vague, 3rd grader kind of way…and for those of you who associate “going green” with the recently dismissed Prop 19, please give yourself a pat on the back if you’re attention span allows you to finish reading this post!
