3rd Annual EcycleBFLO Event A Success!
The 3rd annual EcycleBFLO event that took place on June 28th in downtown Buffalo was a huge success! The original goal was to collect 30,000 pounds of eScrap; this goal was met and surpassed! Almost 31,000 pounds of old electronics were collected which doubled the amount from last year's EcycleBFLO event. The lead sponsors were Shatter I.T., Western New York’s only commercial data center that is fully staffed and accessible 24/7, and Sunnking Electronics Recycling, experts in electronics recycling, asset management, and secure data destruction. The other supporting sponsors of the event were Channel 7, Rich’s, Business First, Get Noticed Promotions, and Ozone Design.
As the numbers were doubled from last years EcycleBFLO event, it is clear that the awareness to recycle electronics is still on the rise. A portion of the proceeds from this collection event were donated to the Ed Tech Foundation, which helps to upgrade the technology of schools and community centers in the Western New York area, especially to under-served populations. "We were proud to help lead an effort that did something good for the environment and for our children,” said Peter C. Ronca, Shatter I.T.’s President and Chief Executive Officer.
“This is an event that we look forward to every year. We have developed some tremendous relationships with our co-sponsors and with Ed-Tech Foundation of WNY,” said Adam Shine, Sales Manager at Sunnking. A discussion for next year’s event is already in the works. The EcycleBFLO team determined that for their 4th year, the new goal would be set at collecting 50,000 pounds of eWaste. Congratulations to Shatter I.T., Sunnking, and all of the other wonderful co-sponsors on another successful year!
