Foodlink & Sunnking Recycle 24,417 lbs. Of Electronics

The official numbers are in!  Sunnking & Foodlink collected 24,417 lbs. of electronics for recycling at Foodlink’s 936 Exchange Street location on March 5th, 2011.

Despite the cold and rainy weather, the Sunnking team geared up again for what turned out to be yet another successful electronics recycling collection event in Monroe County.  The recycling event was open to the Rochester community, and the residents who participated were happy to unload their unwanted computers and equipment, especially because they didn’t even have to get out of their cars in the rain!

As some of you may know, Foodlink is Sunnking’s new charitable partner, and the event on 3/5 was a kickoff to our new donations program. A percentage of profits from each electronics recycling collection event in Monroe County is donated to Foodlink based on the weight/volume of electronics collected for recycling.

There were some residents who had their cars PACKED with old electronics, and even made 3 or 4 trips to the event to responsibly recycle their gear.  Thanks to everyone who showed up to participate and help support Foodlink and a cleaner environment!
