Rochester Becomes Renewable!
Renewable energy is becoming more common as the years go on. Now businesses and homes have made the switch to energy efficient light bulbs, and electronics can be completely charged by the sun. Shawn Lessord of Rochester picked up on this trend and pursued it before renewable energy got really big.
Renewable Rochester is a new business that showcases renewable energy options for people to use in their home or business. Visitors can walk around the “education center” and learn how the products can save them energy and money while simultaneously saving the environment. Lessord saw a need for more education about renewable energy in the Rochester area. He started out in the renewable energy business 7 or 8 years ago, and there were not too many people interested. Fortunately for Lessord (and the environment!), the trend is being picked up. "Now I at least get one a day where people come in and are very interested about how they can save money how they can reduce and re-use everything in house and get more efficient at that," says Lessord.
Once the visitors learn about the latest technology in the education center, they can go right next-door to a ROC supply center where they can purchase products they learned about. The grand opening of Renewable Rochester is July 18th-22nd on Ridge Road in Webster. Go check it out to see how much YOU could be saving by switching to renewable energy!
