Rochester Hamfest 2011!
Come out and see us at the Rochester Hamfest 2011! This event will take place on Saturday, June 4th at Barnard Exempt in Greece from 8:00am - 4:00pm. Sunnking is excited to attend the Rochester show for their fourth consecutive year.
Hamfest, also known as Hamvention, has been around for around 50 years. Initially it started out as a flea market for Ham radio enthusiasts and associations to meet, promote, entertain, and recruit new people to join their hobby. In the beginning years of Hamfest, ham radios and related equipment were the only things being sold at the flea market. Over the years, other electronic hardware has worked its way in, such as computers and peripherals, as well as some hard to find gadgets for the tech savy. Hamfest is still primarily focused on amateur radio products, but the sky is the limit when it comes to electronics at this event!
This year, Hamfest is having their first live auction where vendors will have the opportunity to put the items they did not sell in a live auction. The Last Chance Auction will start at 2:00pm.
The organizers of Hamfest view Sunnking as a big draw for the event. We view Hamfest as a great opportunity to get the word out about Sunnking and promote more business for our warehouse and retail stores. Hamfest is also a great way to establish great customer relationships; many people who we meet at the event continue to be loyal customers at the warehouse and our retail location.
Sunnking will have an assortment of computer related hardware such as full size towers, LCDs, laptops (Mac and IBM), hard drives, automation equipment, and more! This year will be our first year featuring legacy computer system equipment. Everything will be priced to sell. We hope to see you at Hamfest!
