Seneca Park Zoo – Go Green! Recycle Rally

Since 2008 the Seneca Park Zoo has recycled over 45,000 pounds of electronics with Sunnking through their Go Green! Recycle Rallies, and we need the help of the Rochester community to reach our goal of doubling that number! The Zoo is gearing up again this year with 4 events planned for the Rochester community, and Sunnking along with a handful of other recycling businesses and non-profits are going to be there to support the Zoo and provide services to recycle multiple items. Bring your old electronics and tech, paper documents to shred, clothing, sneakers, and ink jet/toner cartridges during any of the scheduled Recycle Rallies and feel good knowing that your items will be recycled in an environmentally responsible manner.
EVENT DETAILS:
Where: The parking lot of the Seneca Park Zoo.
When: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays, unless otherwise noted:
- April 10:Post Tax Season Recycling. Need a place to securely destroy documents no longer needed after completing your taxes this year? The Zoo is the place to do it. A shredding truck will be on site!
- August 14: Are you sending your college student off to school with a new computer? Bring your old ones to the Zoo to be recycled securely.
- September 25: Summer is over and it’s possible your kids won’t fit into their summer clothes again next season. What about those worn-out hiking boots and sneakers? Did you outgrow or update your bicycle? Bring them to the Zoo to be recycled.

Cost: $2 per pound to recycle batteries. Everything else is free of charge.
The Seneca Park Zoo is involved in many green initiatives here in the Rochester community, and their Go Green! Recycle Rally is another great way to show their love for the environment by providing a responsible way for residents to recycle.
In addition to the Go Green! Recycle Rally, the Zoo encourages recycling on a daily basis and has placed receptacles throughout the Zoo for plastic, metal and glass containers. Visit the Zoo’s Green Gazebo near the front entrance for information as well as collection of the following items:
