Sunnking To The Rescue!

We love our gadgets!

Who isn’t amazed by some of the incredible technology that’s hitting shelves and e-commerce sites lately? The iPhone 4…wow, that’s an incredible piece of equipment! How about the iPad or the new Amazon Kindle? Don’t forget the Android platform. It seems like they introduce a new type of smart phone every week!

With so much new technology coming out, it’s hard to keep up! They dazzle our eyes, they cater to our senses, they’re lightweight, efficient, and fun!

Old junk takes up space

But what are we to do about last year’s model iPhone, or Kindle. If you buy a new laptop, where does your old one go?

Our gadget addiction has a downside: the truckloads of e-waste (electronic waste) left behind. A new Gadget Census Study from Retrevo finds that there’s a major disconnect for Americans when it comes to knowing how—and where—to recycle old TVs, smartphones, video game consoles and laptops. The study found that 17% of people didn’t know how to recycle old gadgets, and 26% just “didn’t get around to it.” The states with the best e-waste recycling rates included California and Oregon (45%-60%), while Alaska, Arkansas and Georgia had the worst recycling rates (23%-32%).”

So what’s next for your old electronics? Well, thankfully there’s a solution.

E-cycling is on the rise

Electronics manufacturers, and major electronic retailers are starting to wake up to the need for recycling of old electronics (Here’s a great article on what Samsung is doing to help in this process). And it is a growing need, indeed!

Luckily, we’re here to help!

We love electronics just as much as everyone else. Laptops, desktops, smart phones, GPS’….you name it, we use it!

We also understand the advantages not only of recycling, but also reuse and re-purposing. As a full electronics recycler, we not only understand how to properly recycle electronics, but we can also find value in nearly all used electronic equipment.

Through reuse and re-purposing, much of what we bring into our company finds its way back out into the marketplace via channels like our Ebay store (have you checked out our store yet? There are some seriously GREAT deals there!). We’ve also been able to help locally in the Rochester, NY area with some Business-to-Business (B2B) electronics sales as well.

But we need your help!

We need to continue to spread the message about e-cycling. Here are a few ways you can do that:

  • Spread the message about our collection events (we have one coming up soon!), and also bring your old electronics to one!
  • Become a fan of Sunnking on Facebook
  • Ask us questions in our comment section below.

We’re looking forward to hearing from you, and partnering with YOU by being electronics heroes!
