Town Of Middlesex Clean Up Days 2011!
Hey Middlesex residents! It’s almost time to take care of your end of summer cleaning. Check out Clean Up Days 2011 at the Middlesex Town Barns (Town of Middlesex Highway Department), 1240 Mill Street, Middlesex, NY 14507. This two day collection event will take place on Saturday and Sunday, August 20th-21st from 8am – 5pm. The Town of Middlesex and Sunnking Electronics Recycling will be teaming up to responsibly recycle your unwanted electronics and properly dispose of your trash!
When you bring your non-electronic items to the event, materials must already be sorted by metal, wood, and trash. If you have tires you’re looking to get rid of, there will be a $2.00 charge per tire. Everything else is FREE of charge! The Town of Middlesex will gladly take air conditioners, refrigerators, and freezers off of your hands; however any appliances containing Freon must be accompanied with proof of removal of the Freon by a certified technician. Some items that cannot be brought to Clean Up Days include household garbage, nuclear waste, free liquids (i.e. paint cans with wet paint), unapproved industrial, asbestos or medical waste.
Since the NY State Electronic Equipment Recycling and Reuse Act took effect on April 1st, 2011, this is the first year that Clean Up Days is able to accept your unwanted electronics! We will gladly accept computers, televisions, small scale servers, computer peripherals (including monitors, keyboards, mice, fax machines, document scanners and printers) as well as small electronic equipment (including VCRs, video recorders, DVD players, cable or satellite receivers, video game consoles).
