With the ever-increasing need to dispose of electronic waste responsibly, Goodwill Industries of WNY, Inc. (Goodwill) identified Sunnking, Inc. as the right partner to handle large-scale electronic donations.
“Sunnking’s Reduce/Reuse/Recycle, Dismantling, Shredding and Baling methods have a proven track record,” said Thomas Lynch, President and CEO of Goodwill Industries of WNY. “It is our responsibility to donors and to the community to recycle their products in an environmentally responsible way.”
Donors can drop off their electronics for responsible recycling at any Goodwill donation site. From there, electronics are brought back to Goodwill’s headquarters, sorted and packaged by Goodwill employees for pickup by Sunnking. Goodwill accepts many forms of electronic equipment, including all computer components, printers, televisions, telephones, card readers, circuit boards and more. For a complete list of items that can be accepted and recycled with Sunnking visit www.sunnking.com/acceptable-materials/or www.goodwillwny.org/electronics_recycling.html
Goodwill recycles on average 42,000 pounds of electronic material a month. “This is an important part of Goodwill’s commitment to divert materials from landfills and maximize the value of each donation to help fund programs to assist veterans; people on public assistance; and folks who are disabled or otherwise disadvantaged remove barriers and land competitive employment” added Mr. Lynch.
For donors, confidential data contained in various electronics remains a concern when deciding to donate/recycle. Sunnking’s shredding and data wiping services eliminate those worries. Sunnking’s data wiping services are compliant with HIPPA, FACTA, GLB, Sarbanes Oxley, Identity Theft and Data Leaks adding a level of confidence that donors are looking for when deciding how to dispose of their electronics.
“We are honored that Goodwill has selected us for their electronic recycling,” said Adam Shine Sunnking’s Sale Manager. “We know that Goodwill has a tremendous reputation and has their pick of service providers so we are thankful to be their service partner. By adding Goodwill to our extensive collection network it allows residents considerably more free, easy and convenient ways to drop off old, obsolete and unwanted electronics.”
