Town Of Middlesex Hosts Clean Up Days 2011 With Sunnking Electronics Recycling
Middlesex, NY (August, 8 2011) – The Town of Middlesex, NY is hosting Clean Up Days 2011 in conjunction with Sunnking, on Saturday and Sunday, August 20th-21st from 8am - 5pm. The event will take place at the Middlesex Town Barns (Town of Middlesex Highway Department) at 1240 Mill Street, Middlesex, NY 14507. Residents of the town of Middlesex are encouraged to come out to this event and bring old electronics they wish to responsibly recycle and trash to properly dispose of.
When residents bring their non-electronic items to the event, materials must already be sorted by metal, wood, and trash. There will be a $2.00 disposal charge per tire, but everything else is free of charge. The Town of Middlesex will gladly take air conditioners, refrigerators, and freezers from residents; however any appliances containing Freon must be accompanied with proof of removal of the Freon by a certified technician. Some items that cannot be brought to Clean Up Days include household garbage, nuclear waste, free liquids (i.e. paint cans with wet paint), unapproved industrial, asbestos or medical waste.
Since the NY State Electronic Equipment Recycling and Reuse Act took effect on April 1st, 2011, this is the first year that Clean Up Days is able to accept old and unwanted electronics. Middlesex residents are encouraged to bring electronics such as laptops, desktops, computer accessories, TV’s, monitors, audio/video equipment, mp3 players, communications equipment, servers & IT equipment, printers, scanners, copiers, fax machines, cellphones, PDA’s, medical/lab equipment, and anything else with a circuit board or cord.
