For more than 15 years, Sunnking’s e-Scrap for Camp program has connected responsible electronics recycling with something bigger than sustainability alone, supporting children and families facing cancer through Camp Good Days.

This year, that commitment was marked with a check presentation recognizing the funds raised through the most recent e-Scrap for Camp drive. The donation reflects the combined efforts of local businesses and community members who chose to recycle unwanted electronics responsibly, knowing the proceeds would help send kids to camp and support year-round programs for families navigating serious illness.

Since launching the program in 2010, e-Scrap for Camp has helped divert millions of pounds of electronic waste from landfills while generating more than $160,000 in support for Camp Good Days. What started as a simple idea, turning old electronics into something positive, has grown into an annual effort that continues to make a meaningful difference.

The process behind the program is straightforward but intentional. Donated electronics are securely processed through Sunnking’s certified recycling and refurbishment operations. Devices that can be reused are evaluated to extend their life, while end-of-life equipment is responsibly recycled to recover valuable materials and protect sensitive data. The proceeds from that work are then directed to Camp Good Days.

For Camp Good Days, those funds help ensure that children affected by cancer can attend camp at no cost, experience connection with peers who understand what they are going through, and enjoy moments of normalcy away from medical appointments and treatments. For Sunnking, the program reinforces the belief that sustainability efforts should benefit both the environment and the community.

This year’s check presentation represents more than a single donation. It reflects years of partnership, community participation, and a shared belief that doing the right thing with electronics can also help support families when they need it most.
